ICON HOLDINGS GROUP was born in one of the most unlikely places imaginable—a prison law library, jokingly referred to by its founders as “The University.”
There, two men from radically different worlds discovered a common language: creativity, storytelling, entrepreneurship, camaraderie, and the belief that a person's past does not have to determine their future.
One is Blake Styles, a young Black man whose choices had led him into the criminal justice system. The other is Richard Pitt, a former United Airlines pilot and flight instructor whose extraordinary aviation career eventually took him into the dangerous world of international drug trafficking. Pitt would later become known for his experiences flying during the early years of Pablo Escobar's organization.
Despite their vastly different backgrounds, the two found common ground through writing. What began as a way to occupy their time became a serious creative partnership lasting years. Together, they developed more than 200 hip-hop songs and ultimately nine books, while beginning to envision something far larger than individual creative projects.
They began to recognize the power of authentic storytelling—not simply as entertainment, but as a vehicle for transformation.
